It was really fun and cheap. Its free to get in and watch. There was food and drink to be had. It was surprising how quickly once can get into the race and picking a winner.
I pick based on names and who is prettiest. I won $1.60 on Part Pirate! I had only minimum problems placing the bet due to my enthusiasm. I think the guy behind the counter thought it was funny though so no problem. As he said "they can't possibly know the names of all the horses what was its number?"
Following a nice afternoon in the sunshine we had a nice Italian dinner and finished with DIRT CAKE! My favorite! Overall, it was a good birthday.
