Holiday Travel

I am back in Edmonton after a harrowing trip . . . again.  Plane one had a malfunctioning sensor so they had to restart the plane.  The pilot made up the time in the air so yay!

Then I have a nice little layover and get on the next plane.  We are all sitting around and the time to go comes and goes and I realize the door to the cockpit is still open.  Not a good sign.  After about 15 minutes we get an announcement from the captain.  The sensor on the lavatory isn't working . . . when they drained the take the sensor said it was filling up . . . so we had to wait while some poor mechanic visually checked that the tank was empty . . . so I get delayed an hour and a forty minutes . . .

My plan touches down at 2:05 when my next plan started boarding at 1:50.  I take off across the airport.  All the way across.  Three trams later I was at my gate, which was still boarding. Yay!  So, the trip back was a bit of an ordeal.  I did have my bags when I arrived thought so that was amazing!

Chirstmas Presents!

I thought I'd share a bit more of the holiday decorations with Christmas approaching.  Here you have multiple views of all the presents I wrapped for the holidays!

Yes I did make all those bows.  And yes it took an entire day.

Crochet Projects: Zombie Mushrooms

I made up some more Christmas presents using my crocheting skills.  I found a basic pattern for a mushroom and then adapted it to make . . . Zombie Mushrooms!
Headlight is on the left and Mutt is on the the right

Originally they were going to be happy mushrooms, but I had a craft supply issue that resulted in these zombie mushrooms.  I think they are more awesome than what I originally planned.

I love crocheting plushies.  There is a wealth of online patterns available if you search for them. Happy searching!

Glutten Free Gingerbread House: Part 2 Decorating

Dad-bot and I finally got the gingerbread house decorated.  It took a lot less time then putting the house itself together.  We tried to balance a lot of color and candy with a fairly simple look.  I think we did an excellent job for our first Gingerbread house!

The Front - you can kind of see the smoke coming out of the chimney
A close up - note the tiny gingerbread marshmallow men

Side with a snow man
Other side with candy cane trees
Back with a candy log pile!

I'm very pleased with the whole look.  Can't wait to pick a project for next year!

If you were wondering about the Blizzard. . .

We had a slight blizzard.  11 inches of snow in a few hours with really strong winds creating white outs (and banging christmas decorations in to the winds hard enough to make use fear for busted glass . . . but not enough to go out in the storm . . . and get on a ladder).  The outside holiday decorations still look good (mostly) despite the storm.

You can get a feel for depth on the porch

Ynnep has a path shoveled out

Dragon is still flying!

Snow removed from backyard to make a better latrine

More on the piles of snow

This is all from the one storm . . .

Happy snowman

Right side decorations

Left side decorations with collapsed tree from wind :(

Santa!

Ignore the fact that he doesn't have a face or pants . . . or legs

Two headed dragon has his jingle bells on

The sculpture and holiday decorations are all welded metal.  All dragons made by me. :)
